Autograph ABP is pleased to launch the film season with the award winning film Testament (1988:80 mins), a Black Audio Film Collective production followed by a discussion with director John Akomfrahnon Friday 1st October, 6.30pm.

Testament focuses on the Kwame Nkrumah era in Ghanaian history and paints a portrait of a female African government minister forced into exile after a coup d'état in 1966. Two decades later the protagonist returns to confront the country she left behind. Filmed partly in Ghana, Akomfrah's film explores themes of diaspora, memory, political struggle and liberatory idealism.

Contact Rivington Place directly for further details and to reserve a space; £3.50 on the door.
