CURATORIAL INTENSIVE IN BANGKOK

Program Dates: October 22–28, 2018 Application Deadline: August 12, 2018 ICI presents the inaugural Curatorial Intensive in Bangkok, Thailand, developed in partnership with the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University to coincide with the launch of its international postgraduate program in Curatorial Practice, and with the James H.W. Thompson Foundation. Seminars, site visits, individual meetings, and roundtable discussions will be led by a group of professionals that includes:  Zoe Butt  (Artistic Director, The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, Ho Chi Minh City),  Gridthiya Gaweewong  (Artistic Director, Jim Thompson Art Center, Bangkok),  Mami Kataoka  (Chief Curator, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo),  Renaud Proch  (Executive Director, ICI),  Mari Spirito  (Founding Director, Protocinema, Istanbul), among others. Open Call for New Dimensions VR AR Lab For African Artist

About the New Dimensions Lab Now in its 3rd year, the New Dimensions Lab brings together diverse African artists to learn Virtual Reality (VR) storytelling from leading industry mentors. The Lab takes place over the course of a week at a private retreat where artists engage in discussions and workshops, and develop their creative projects. Six applicants will be selected to participate. Past mentors have included Jessica Brillhart (Google, Vrai Pictures), Jim Chuchu (The Nest Collective), Darren Emerson (VR City), Selly Raby Kane, Katy Morrison (VRTOV), Oscar Raby (VRTOV), and Ainsley Sutherland. Electric South fully sponsors travel, accommodation and meals for participants. Requirements: Applicants must be: 1. Citizens or permanent residents of an African country 2.
